Future Scenarios and Architectural Fiction

We have been talking about what is the future be in the future. All of us have an idea of that, however, there are numerous unknown factors that can vary our vision to the future. A lot of researches has to be done before answering this question. This is a very broad and profound question.

There are lots of issues that we have to look at, for instance, political, climate, technology, social cultural, economical, etc. As an designer/architect, we take a very unique role in the society. What is the appropriate design that suit for the future? What we are designing today, is going to influence the people who are occupying it.
What we are designing, is for the needs of tomorrow.

What is the world going to be? Are we still going to using fossil fuels? What will be the political system in the future, communisum ? capitalism?  How advance can the technology goes? An architect requires a thorough understanding of the future context and how the architectural outcome that influencing the people.
